Director of the national award winning film 'Fandry', Nagraj Manjule, recently had a big surprise in store for him.
Nagraj had flown to the US as 'Fandry' was officially selected for a screening at The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles which just concluded. After his return to Mumbai, the director went straight to meet his brother, who works with the Maharashtra police to share his excitement.
Upon reaching the police station, Nagraj saw that a group of almost 50-60 policemen including his brother, were waiting outside the police station to congratulate him for his achievement with flower bouquets and gifts in their hands. "This sudden and warm welcome has been overwhelming for me," said an emotional Nagraj.
'Fandry' has bagged the Best Debut Film Director and Best Child Artist (Somnath Avghade) titles at the 61st National Film Awards.
