Lalit Prabhakar is certainly making his presence felt in the character of Aditya Desai in ongoing serial 'Julun Yeti Reshimgathi' on Zee Marathi channel. Tall, smart with simplicity, he is becoming popular amongst the home viewers. Not many are aware of his struggle in this acting field. A bachelor of science in Computer science, this youngster from kalyan, has been active in the field of acting since 2003, while he was a teenager. He had then joined a theatre group 'Mitee-Char' in Kalyan, for performing in theatre. Lalit was encouraged by his parents, who are both in teaching profession.
Lalit received young artiste scholarship for the year 2010-2012 from Ministry of Culture, central Government. Till then, he had was associated as an actor, director, set designer and music operator for many one act and full length plays written by well known writers like Vijay Tendulkar, C.P.Deshpande, Shyam Manohar, Ravindra Lakhe, Shafaat Khan, Arwind Kulkarni, Dilip Jagtap, Jayant Pawar, Swapnil Chavan. And, he did receive appreciation for the same. 

Lalit made his debut in TV serials through 'Jeevalaga' on Star Pravah, followed by 'Abhas ha' on Zee Marathi, 'GandhaPhulancha Gela Sangun' on ETV Marathi and now 'Julun Yeti Reshimgathi' on Zee Marathi, which has brought him name and fame.

Marathi Movie World spoke to this hard working young talented actor. Excerpts from the interview:

Q: Could you please tell us about your journey into small screen.
A: Before accepting my first offer on small screen for 'Jeevalaga', I was doing a professional stage play with Avinash Narvekar. Then, my role in 'Gandha Phulancha Gela Sangun' gave me some recognition; but, through the role of Aditya Desai in 'Julun Yeti Reshimgathi' I am now able to reach every Maharashtrian household.

Q: Did you receive any specialised training from anyone in particular? And, who is your ideal in acting field?
A: I have not received special training from anyone in particular. But, I consider myself lucky to have got an opportunity to work under reputed directors like Hemant Deodhar and now with Sangeet Kulkarni. And, my ideal in acting field is Charlie Chaplin.

Q: How has been your experience while working with Prajakta?
A: Very nice. Prajakta is very cooperative with all of us, during shooting. And that gives us more comfort. She is a very talented actress.

Q: In today's competition, how difficult it is to find a lead role in a serial ? And, when you get such a role, how difficult it is to maintain your position ? Give Your personal opinion.
A: I personally feel that if we work sincerely to achieve our goal, nothing is difficult. What is important is your passion for this field. Are you entering this field to earn fame and money or only because you are getting happiness, while doing the work? Struggle is there, but in this field of acting, you should be clear with your views.

Q: How do you keep yourself busy, besides acting? Any hobbies?
A: I like to get involved in stage designing and arranging music for plays. I have also directed one act plays. During my free time, I like to write poems, do sketching, go for walks and read books. I am an avid reader.

Q: Are there any favourite authors?
A:Vilas Sarangdhar, Shyam Manohar and Uday Prakash are my favourite authors.

Q: What are your present assignments, besides this serial?
A: Actually, I had an offer for a film; but, I don't have time for the same now. But,I am seriously working on an experimental play. Let's see how it works. At present, a play 'Invisible City' directed by me, is going on. It was staged at Vasant Mahotsav recently. It ws also selected for THESPO competition.
